RIDIC019: Open Cluster - Remix EP
Release: August 09, 2011

RIDIC019 Art

01. Grotto (EK Remix) PREVIEW

02. Travel Without Moving (Beatsmack Remix) PREVIEW

Open Cluster's debut on Ridiculoud Records gets some serious remix treatment for our 19th release. EK makes his return to Ridiculoud delivering a massive, bass-heavy rework for 'Grotto' jacking the laid back funk of the original.  Meanwhile, Beatsmack makes quick work of 'Travel Without Moving' by injecting some heavy drums and a groovy bassline to keep things sounding big and funky.

Feedback:

Mr. No Hands (Mixmag) - "Review: As far as up and coming breaks labels go, Ridiculoud is one of the better ones, though it’s sometimes a bit hit and miss. Getting the studio wizkid EK on board was a good move and he come up trumps with this tightly produced, electro influenced, peak destroyer. More like this please!"

Daniella Downs (Helltrack/Dead Famous) - "The EK remix is definitely the one I would play, hands down."

Llupa (YellowFinger/Ridiculoud) - "Digging the stompin' groove on the EK Remix. He is so good at taking the best bits and cramming them into an quick assault of beats and groove - no mucking around. Great to hear the funk set free on the Beatsmack remix - solid big room vibes, I think the floor will really dig this one. Great release guys - cool to see the remixes released separately."

Home Alone (Dead Famous/Ridiculoud) - “EK all the way! His remix is so awesome!! Good job from Beatsmack, too, but EK’s remix is just AMAZING!!”

Triple Agent (Logariddim) - "Nice techy business on the EK remix! Great!"

Sketi (En:Vision) - Killer remixes here, love them both. The Beatsmack remix is super funky - will certainly see its way into my sets.

Kickflip (Breakin Even) - “Couple of tidy remixes here! EK wins it for me, but both are tight.

Karton (Sound Of Habib) - "EK remix is cool."

Steve Maccabe (V.I.M.) - "I really like the Beatsmack remix. This is funky yet tough at the same time, will support this in my funkier sets. Really impressed with some of Beatsmack's work recently."

Mobius (Ape Music) - "The EK remix of Grotto is the best thing I've heard from him so far - will support."

Bill Vega (Downbeat/Badbwoy Bass) - “All about the EK remix, wicked stuff.”

Far Too Loud (Funkatech) - "Pretty fat, especially the EK remix."

Yreane (XSSR) - "Damn, guys! Killer after killer! Both remixes on this one are just GREAT! I just love the tough and powerful sound of EK’s remix, but those funky guitars from Beatsmack are great too. Can't decide which track is for me; I’m thinking both of them - 5/5 for sure."

Burjuy (Breaks Review Show) - “EK remix is awesome - so pretty and melodic, and at the same time, huge aggressive bass! He is the master of this sound!”

DiiSTORTiiON (Ridiculoud) - “Both remixes are solid but EK's remix is AWESOME!! Can't wait to drop it!”

BoBalino (Big Square/Scarcity) - "Both are sweet remixes, but the EK remix is the one I am feeling the most - great melody hook that just gets ya, this will be awesome to rock out to in the club. Loads of drive in this, wicked remix."

Quextal (V.I.M.) - “Supporting the EK remix, love the breakdown on this one.”
