Portland's Mitchell Hanson aka DJ Vize is regarded as the Pacific NW's most prolific nuskool breakbeat artist, and quite simply one of the top breakbeat artists in the USA. His combination of dj skills, successful vinyl releases and remixes, and mind-blowing synthesizer chops set him far apart from the masses. Classically trained in nearly every orchestral instrument, and well-versed in music theory and composition, he has been playing and writing music for nearly all of his life.

A DJ since 1999, Vize cut his production teeth in 2002, releasing his first track on DJ Spice’s Version 3.0 Records. From there, he has steadily built a discography of critically-acclaimed vinyl releases on respected domestic and import breaks labels, including: Oven Fresh Records and Born Idle Records. His tracks have received major support from Krafty Kuts, Jay Cunning, General Midi, BLIM, Stereo 8, Capoeria Twins, Bass Kleph, Vlad Sokolov, J-Bass, Duane Barry, Jurassik, Ben & Lex, Angus Robinson, Madame Mercury and the list goes on.

Vize’s 2007 breaks releases helped Orlando, Florida's Oven Fresh Records, now known as Static System Music, grow to one of the top new domestic breaks labels, with ‘Jammin’ Ya Tekz’ securing a spot in Beatport’s Top 10 within days of release. His latest tracks such as "This is Whoa" with Televisionary Records and several releases with Russian imprint 13Breakz have also made a major splash on the breaks world, often holding high chart positions and featured spots at several locations.

Vize has proven himself as a DJ and performer during his nine-plus years behind the decks and keys. His high-energy sets have rocked venues from Canada to Las Vegas to Texas to Florida and a wide variety of places in-between. His DJ sets and original tracks have been featured multiple times on Portland's KNRK 94.7FM and Seattle's C89.5FM, as well as internet radio shows iBreaks.co.uk, BreaksFM, Nuskoolbreaks.co.uk, Proton Radio. His music has also appeared on the Annie Nightingale Show on BBC Radio1, being named a 2009 "Mover and Shaker in Breakbeat" by Annie.

Combine all this with an energetic, synth-driven, keyboard-skills-flexin’ Live PA and you have one of the USA’s most dynamic young breakbeat artists!

Look out for Vize's debut track on Ridiculoud Records, 'R U There', later this year!
